Iconic furniture store will close its doors in Hobart

Owners Phil & Hayley Russell have said

“It’s an exciting time ahead with our company selling its current Hobart location to Freedom whom we would all agree the market would be worse off without Freedom in our state, this also allows us to now focus on launching our brand new superstore in central Launceston early next year along with our upcoming online website so that we can continue to supply state-wide our exclusive collection/s whilst keeping a balance between our work and family lives which is one of our core business pillars.”

Mr Russell went on to say that he wanted to thank his loyal customer base in the south of the state and asked them to “watch this space” when it comes to making the world’s best furniture brands available in Tasmania.” Mr Russell stated, “categorically we are honouring existing warranties and orders.” Therefore, anyone who has purchased any Living Room product and it is still within the warranty period then your warranty is valid. And likewise, if any customer has ordered a product that is on back order, we will get that product delivered to your door"

The Living Room has been an institution in Launceston for over 20 years and Mr Russell also wanted to give confidence to northern customers by saying “No, this does not mean Freedom will be taking over the Launceston store. In fact, the Living Room is excited to announce an extension of the Launceston Showroom into neighbouring tenancies to create the biggest furniture store in Tasmania with 2600sq metres of floor space to stock the world class products that everyone has come to love.”
